TIRED OF ALWAYS dealing with your weight?
At some point things get out of hand and we start dieting. Usually it comes down to eating significantly less calories. Unfortunately, however, your metabolism will slow down due to the reduced calorie supply, making it even more difficult to lose the pounds. It has been scientifically proven that if you limit your calorie intake too often, your metabolism will permanently slow down and then you really have a problem. The more often you diet, the greater the chance of being overweight.
THE right weight with the right food
I will help you to adjust your eating habits and eat energy-rich foods. Food that put your digestive organs to work, instead of slowing it down. Food that has the right energy to keep your metabolism running at full speed. I also want to know what you like to eat because we are going to make it as tasty as possible.
It is important to know your own eating habits.
– Why are you eating
– When do you eat
– How much do you eat
– What are you eating
I would also like to hear more about yourself, just as much as you would like to tell me. If you have health problems, it is important to report it because we have to take that into account. There is also a good chance that some health problems will disappear. Based on what you have told me I will make a personal plan for you!
For once and for all at your ideal weight
We are very consciously going to adapt the old habits, we are not going to develop new habits because then the brain could still reach for the old existing habits. You will soon find that modifying a habit requires the meaningful reward to remain, so we will work on that together. Step by step!
Depending on your own interests, I have forms on which you can write the old eating habits and the ones that will replace them. Why you eat, what you eat, when you eat and how much you eat. In a special food diary you can write when you ate something you regret and why you ate it. We also make an ideal nutritional list together with things that you like and that also give your body a healthy and good energy. Again, only if you are interested in this yourself, it is not a must.
AN IDEAL WEIGHT STARTS IN your BRAIN, NOT ON your PLATE
Our brains are at the forefront of habit, especially with food, our ‘eating habits’. We all know that vegetables are healthier than burgers, but we like the burgers better, as well as we like the high sugar cookies better than a raw carrot. We create habits, good and bad for our health and ideal weight.
Our brain uses about 20% of the calories we consume daily. Our brains are busy all day with decision-making, learning, self-control, remembering, planning, processing fears and so on and willpower helps you with that, but they also exhaust your willpower. Even if you have nothing to decide anymore, you have no fears and you don’t have to learn or plan anything anymore, you would think that your willpower should be in good shape, but unfortunately that is not the case.
The fact that you are frustrated with your weight, you are deciding, planning, learning, you have fears that it will not work again, also exhausts your willpower. Nobody has a grip on this phenomenon and you will not have to rely on willpower alone if you want to achieve your ideal weight forever. Your brain gets tired and that’s why they like to grab habits and you have enough in stock. According to science, 90% of our daily food decisions are the result of habits.
As you have read, I have a strong opinion about nutrition and weight loss and my approach is completely different, but the chance of success is unprecedentedly large and permanent.
Our digestive system
Our digestive system is also sometimes referred to as our ‘2nd brain’. It has its own advanced nervous system to encourage, monitor and process food consumption and digestion. It has evolved over the years and knows that we don’t have to hunt and eat to survive.
It uses, among other things, the hormones, ghrelin which stimulates food intake and leptin which inhibits food intake, depending on how much food the body needs. The digestive system ensures that we eat what and when we need it, and get the most out of our food.
Unfortunately we no longer listen to this ‘2nd brain’, we are offered so many treats and unhealthy, we don’t even have to leave the house. We eat because we like it and because we like something, not because we are hungry. We Westerners do not know hunger anyway, let’s call it craving for nice food. Eating has become a habit and the type of food we eat is an integral part of that.
We stretch the stomach wall by eating that dessert that can no longer be eaten and gradually we eat more and more because it can accommodate more and because it is all incredibly tasty of course. If you eat all the things you don’t like for a month, you would lose weight quickly and without much effort, but what about after that when you have reached your goal?
