How to come back after an illness, an injury or a long break
Some golfers are very nervous to get back on the golfcourse, some are exited, others expect their game still to be there exactly as it was before the has break.
They pay so much attention to their opponents that they are no longer concerned with their own game. Many golfers experience problems when they have to perform under pressure. With others it seems that they cannot perform under pressure, but it is due to something completely different. Maybe something going on at home or at work or just a little piece of technology that makes them lose their confidence.
the yips
The putting yips are a sudden, involuntary muscle spasm, tremor, or jerk in the hands or arms during a putting stroke. It is a form of performance anxiety that causes golfers to struggle with short putts, leading to extreme frustration and a loss of confidence. They are unable to control their stroke and the more worried they are the worse it becomes.
The shank
A shank in golf is a mishit that occurs when the golf ball is struck by the hosel—the part of the club where the shaft connects to the club head rather than the club face. This typically results in a low, sharp, and uncontrollable shot that shoots off to the right or left depending on the player is right- or left-handed. Often missing their target completely.
Lost your swing - No confidence - No focus?
Some golfers have completely lost their golf swing, others have no faith in themselves and some have lost their focus for various reasons.
